Neadvance – Machine Vision, S.A. (NIF 514383909) is a Braga machine-vision and industrial-automation software house, incorporated on 31 May 2017 and registered at Rua do Parque Poente, Lote 35 (4705-002 Braga), which Atlas Copco Group acquired on 11 March 2025. The Swedish group’s acquisitions register records 41 employees and revenues of MSEK 29, about €2.5 million in 2023; Neadvance now operates inside the Chicago Pneumatic Tools division of Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area.
Neadvance builds software that lets cameras inspect and guide production lines: quality control, defect detection and integrated vision systems for automotive, electronics and assembly customers. The company was set up in Braga in May 2017, in the Minho industrial cluster that already hosts Bosch’s largest Portuguese plant and a dense supplier base, and by 2023 had grown to about €2.5 million of revenue and 41 staff. Its Portuguese registry entry lists manufacturing, assembly, sales, import and export and development of automation and control systems as its object, with activity codes for measuring instruments and for the repair and installation of industrial machinery.
Atlas Copco Group announced the purchase in March 2025 and booked it in its acquisitions register on 11 March 2025 under the Industrial Technique business area, which sells assembly tools and quality-assurance systems to vehicle and electronics makers. “With this acquisition, we are accelerating our capability for smart integrated assembly,” said Henrik Elmin, the business area’s president, in the group’s statement; Neadvance was placed in the Chicago Pneumatic Tools division. The Portuguese law firm CMS advised the buyer. Atlas Copco had bought the Vila do Conde compressor-service company Arlógica five months earlier, and the group’s Portuguese sales company is profiled at Atlas Copco Portugal.
Most Nordic acquisitions in Portugal buy distribution or manufacturing capacity; Neadvance is one of the few where a Swedish industrial group bought Portuguese engineering intellectual property outright and kept it in place. It puts a Braga software team inside the product roadmap of a global assembly-tools business, and it signals to other Portuguese deep-tech firms in machine vision, robotics and industrial software that Nordic strategics are buyers, not only customers.
