Specialised jersey development, cutting and sewing facility in Várzea, northern Portugal, founded in 2014. Cottonparadise is named on Stockholm brand ASKET’s published factory pages as the very first factory to join the Swedish label — it has made ASKET’s t-shirts since 2015 and remains its partner a decade on.
Cottonparadise anchors one of the longest-running documented Nordic-Portuguese factory relationships in premium basics. When Stockholm’s ASKET launched its first t-shirt in 2015, the Várzea facility — then around 20 people, 15 of them seamstresses — was its first production partner. As the Swedish brand’s permanent collection grew, the factory scaled with it: a second production floor, a separate sewing unit thirty minutes away, and a network of nearby knitters and dyeing houses for fabric sourcing.
The facility handles jersey development, all cutting, most sewing and all final quality control in-house, and specialises in private-label apparel for international markets. Its decade with ASKET is documented publicly on the brand’s per-garment traceability pages — an unusually verifiable customer relationship in an industry where supplier ties are usually confidential.
Cottonparadise shows the B-side of Nordic fashion’s Portuguese production story: a small family-run factory whose growth was financed by a single Swedish brand’s scaling, now part of the permanent industrial infrastructure linking the Vale do Ave textile belt to Scandinavian premium apparel.
