The Portuguese business register lists the company as a sociedade anónima with share capital of €50,000. Its registered object covers river and maritime tourism by boat, including passenger transport and a floating restaurant, as well as coach and helicopter sightseeing tours and the sale of food products, crafts and decorative items. Its filed accounts run from 2014 through 2024. In its 2025 annual report on Form 20-F, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 3 March 2026, Viking Holdings lists Viking Cruises Portugal, S.A. as a 100%-owned subsidiary. The same report says the group owns river vessels in Portugal that are registered there, and its fleet table names five Douro longships: Viking Torgil, Viking Hemming, Viking Osfrid, Viking Helgrim and Viking Gyda.

The Nordic link

Viking is not a Nordic-registered group. NorthSouth HQ includes it on the Nordic-origin criterion: its founder, chairman and chief executive is Norwegian, Norway is among the countries where the group’s ships are registered, and its subsidiary list includes the Norwegian company Viking Hydrogen AS.

Why this matters

Viking runs its own Portuguese operating company, registered in Vila Nova de Gaia, and a fleet of river ships built for the Douro. That puts a Norwegian-founded group inside the Portugal ↔ Scandinavia business corridor that NorthSouth HQ tracks every day.
