Corridor footprint

Vero Moda is the women’swear flagship of Bestseller A/S, the family-owned Danish fashion group founded in 1975 and still controlled by the Holch Povlsen family from Brande, Jutland. Launched in 1987, the brand anchors a portfolio that also includes Jack & Jones and Only — and Portugal has become one of its priority expansion markets. The group plans 10 stand-alone Vero Moda stores across the country by 2027, each around 250 square metres with a clean, Scandinavian-inspired fit-out, creating roughly 80 new retail jobs while location scouting continues nationwide.

The rollout sits inside a wider Bestseller Portugal push: the group is lifting its Portuguese store count from nine to twelve during 2026 and targets 22 stores by 2027, backed by a €15 million investment. “Our goal is to become a key name in mid-range women’s fashion in Portugal,” Bestseller Portugal CEO Diogo Bartolomeu has said, with parallel store openings planned for the group’s other brands.

Why this matters for the corridor

Bestseller’s bet is one of the clearest signs that Nordic consumer brands now treat Portugal as a growth retail market in its own right rather than an Iberian afterthought — mid-market fashion following the path already cut by JYSK, Normal and IKEA.
