Velox Electro is the Leiria-based electrical-construction company of Norway’s CTS Group, one of the largest European groups in the design and construction of data centres. More than 200 people in Leiria build the power and electrical systems inside hyperscale facilities, and the company also operates a Norwegian entity, Velox Electro Nordics AS, tying the Leiria workforce directly into Nordic data-centre sites — including work connected to Norway’s largest data-centre projects.
Velox is one pillar of an unusually deep Portuguese platform. CTS runs its European base from Parque das Nações in Lisbon (opened 2025 with a team of 50, since expanding), holds a majority of Porto BIM specialist BIMMS with close to 100 engineers, employs around 200 more through a joint venture with Mecwide in Barcelos, and — through the NordicEPOD partnership with Eaton — is creating a factory in Viana do Castelo to produce electricity-distribution units for data centres, announced at 500 jobs. Portuguese business media have put the group’s total commitment at roughly 1,000 Portuguese jobs.
