VALLEGRE – Vinhos do Porto, S.A. is a fifth-generation family wine house of the Cunha Barros family, headquartered at Quinta da Vista Alegre in the Douro’s Cima Corgo, near Pinhão. As of July 2026 it is a dual-monopoly Nordic supplier: listed at Norway’s Vinmonopolet and, from 17 July 2026, at Sweden’s Systembolaget with a 10,500-bottle Touriga Nacional allocation.
Vallegre’s roots run through the Cunha Barros family’s Douro holdings: Quinta da Vista Alegre was acquired in 1965, the business became Sociedade Agrícola Barros S.A. in the early 1970s, and in May 1998 it took the Vallegre name — a fusion of its two flagship estates, Valle Longo and Vista Alegre. From its Cima Corgo base near Pinhão it produces DOC Porto, Douro and Moscatel do Douro wines exported to more than thirty countries.
Its Nordic footprint runs on both sides of the Scandinavian peninsula: in Norway through Vinmonopolet, where it is imported by Cork Wines & Spirits AS, and from 17 July 2026 in Sweden, where Systembolaget’s temporary assortment took its Touriga Nacional 2025 at 169 kronor in an unusually large 10,500-bottle allocation via importer Quaffable Wines.
Dual-monopoly distribution is the gold standard for a Douro house in the Nordics — and Vallegre’s Swedish entry is a volume play at the value end of the shelf, exactly where Portuguese reds are winning share from pricier appellations.
Vallegre Touriga Nacional 2025 launched in Systembolaget’s 17 July 2026 release; Swedish wine site Winetable called it “a find for the price” for buyers wanting a taste of the Douro.
