Corridor footprint

Twintex appears by name on Tiger of Sweden’s published Tier-1 supplier lists as a Portuguese garment maker for the Stockholm tailoring house — a documented, verifiable customer relationship of the kind most factories keep confidential. From Fundão, in the Beira Interior, the company has specialised since 1979 in exactly the product Tiger of Sweden built its brand on: structured tailoring, from blazers and coats to dresses.

Founded by António Mineiro in September 1979 and still family-run, Twintex employs more than 400 people, making it one of the anchor industrial employers of the Fundão area and a counterexample to the notion that Portuguese garment-making is confined to the Braga–Barcelos knitwear belt in the north.

Why this matters for the corridor

Twintex extends the corridor’s best-documented textile vein — Nordic brands’ published supplier lists — into premium tailoring and into interior Portugal, where a single Swedish account supports hundreds of skilled manufacturing jobs.
