Corridor footprint

Transcom has operated in Portugal for around two decades, making it one of the more entrenched Nordic players in the country’s fast-growing nearshore-services sector. Its Portuguese operations in Porto and Vila Nova de Famalicão deliver customer support, technical support, sales and back-office services for international clients across multiple languages.

The group has been expanding locally: it opened a new Porto site on Rua de Latino Coelho, adding well over 100 jobs with plans for several hundred more and taking its Portuguese headcount past 600. Worldwide, Transcom runs roughly 50 contact centres across 21 countries with around 33,000 employees serving brands in some 33 languages — and Portugal’s multilingual talent has become one of its core European delivery hubs.

Why this matters for the corridor

Transcom shows a quieter face of the Nordic→Portugal corridor: not capital or factories, but services and jobs. A Swedish-owned, Portugal-run CX operation converts the country’s language skills and EU time zone into export revenue, and its continued hiring makes it a useful bellwether for the wider Nordic nearshoring wave.

Recent activity

Transcom inaugurated a new Porto office on Rua de Latino Coelho, anchoring a planned expansion of several hundred roles in the city.
