Corridor footprint

Sigma Software opened its first Portuguese office in Cascais at Estrada Malveira da Serra 920 in March 2022, with a second office in Lisbon at Rua da Junqueira 218/220 following soon after. The Portuguese unit is part of Sigma Software Group, the IT services arm of Sweden's Danir — a Lund-Malmö based holding company with operations in 15 countries and more than 30 offices worldwide.

The Portuguese team focuses on cross-border engineering delivery for European enterprise clients, with deep domain knowledge in AdTech, automotive, aviation, gaming, telecom, e-learning, FinTech and PropTech. Sigma's Portuguese expansion came at a time of accelerated Swedish-Portuguese tech-services investment, alongside QueensLab and other Nordic IT consultancies establishing Iberian beachheads.

Why this matters for the corridor

Sigma Software's twin-office structure (Cascais and Lisbon) reflects an emerging pattern in Nordic tech-services investment in Portugal: starting in the Cascais-Estoril-Carcavelos coastline for senior leadership and Western European-facing clients, with a Lisbon-city office added for hiring depth in the broader Portuguese engineering talent pool. The model is being replicated across the corridor by Swedish, Danish and Norwegian consultancies looking for a fluent English, EU-time-zone alternative to onshore Nordic delivery economics.
