Portuguese nodular-iron foundry group with plants in Águeda and Maia, part of India's Sakthi Group. Sakthi Portugal produces safety-critical castings — brake housings, differential cases and suspension control arms — for global automakers, including Sweden's Volvo.
Sakthi Portugal operates nodular-iron foundries in Águeda and Maia, producing safety-critical components — brake housings, differential cases and suspension control arms — for the global automotive industry. Its state-of-the-art SP21 line in Águeda, equipped with a DISAMATIC vertical moulding system, added 80,000 tonnes of annual capacity and lifted the group's combined output toward 170,000 tonnes.
Among the OEMs Sakthi supplies is Sweden's Volvo, alongside Mercedes-Benz, Ford and PSA. That makes the Águeda foundry a direct Portuguese input into Nordic vehicle production — the same structural supplier relationship that ties Portugal's wider metals and tooling cluster to Swedish carmakers.
Sakthi is a textbook Direction-B link: a Portuguese industrial plant embedded in the Nordic automotive supply chain. As Volvo electrifies and reshapes component sourcing, EU-based safety-critical casting suppliers like Sakthi are strategically positioned.
