Corridor footprint

Reaktor's Lisbon office opened in December 2021 as the company's most strategic European expansion outside the Nordic core, with an explicit target of building a 100+ engineer team over three to four years. Office lead Nizar Jouini, who previously joined as a developer and rose to head of engineering at Reaktor, was appointed both to lead the new office and to oversee global talent growth across Reaktor's European markets.

Lisbon was selected on the strength of Portugal's tech ecosystem, English-fluent engineering talent and a developer lifestyle that competes with Berlin and Amsterdam. The Reaktor model — small, multidisciplinary product teams embedded with enterprise clients — translates well into a Lisbon-based delivery hub serving European mid-caps and global brands such as adidas, HBO, KONE, Cathay Pacific and Supercell.

Why this matters for the corridor

Finnish digital consultancies expanding into Portugal is one of the cleaner Nordic-PT talent corridors: hiring follows the developer pipeline, and Lisbon's growing senior-engineer pool is precisely what scale-stage Helsinki-led firms need. Reaktor's Lisbon office is a flagship example.

Recent activity

Continued hiring and team expansion at the Lisbon office under Nizar Jouini, against the original 100+ engineer recruitment target.
