Quinta do Tedo is an 18th-century Douro estate at the confluence of the Tedo and Douro rivers, restored since 1992 by Burgundian Vincent Bouchard and Californian Kay Steffey Bouchard. Its 14 hectares of classified “A” vineyards are certified organic, and its wines are listed at Sweden’s Systembolaget (art. 7166101).
Quinta do Tedo’s wines reach Sweden through the Systembolaget monopoly (article 7166101) — a named Nordic listing that anchors the estate’s presence in the corridor. The property itself sits where the Tedo river meets the Douro, in the Cima Corgo, with 14 hectares of terraced vineyards holding the Douro’s top “A” classification — a grade held by less than 2% of the valley’s vineyards.
Since 1992 the estate has been run by Vincent Bouchard, of the Burgundian Bouchard family, and Kay Steffey Bouchard, who completed a three-year organic conversion certified in July 2011. Annual production is around 60,000 bottles, roughly 45,000 of them Port.
