Quinta d’Amares is a roughly 50-hectare contiguous Vinho Verde estate at Santo André de Rendufe, Amares (Braga), on south-facing land beside the 11th-century Benedictine monastery of Rendufe and its 17th-century aqueduct, with an office at Rua da Cerca 15, Bico, 4720-173 Amares. It grows seven grape varieties, vinifies in a stainless-steel winery with temperature-controlled fermentation at 13–15 °C, and its Loureiro was named white wine of the year at the Concurso W 2023. Both Nordic monopolies list it: Systembolaget has carried Amare 2023 (art. 234601, SEK 95) in its order range since 1 June 2024 through Portucastas AB, and three Quinta d’Amares wines entered Vinmonopolet’s order range on 2 September 2026 via Silves Vinho Group AS.
Quinta d’Amares describes itself as a single block of about 50 hectares of vines in the small village of Santo André de Rendufe, in the Amares municipality north of Braga, adjoining the ruins of the Benedictine Mosteiro de Rendufe, one of the most important monastic houses of northern Portugal until its dissolution in 1834, whose 17th-century aqueduct appears on the estate’s labels. The vineyard faces south and is planted with seven varieties; the winery is fully stainless steel, with soft pressing and fermentation held at 13 to 15 °C, and a tasting centre is under development. The estate has run Norte 2020-funded competitiveness projects and won the white-wine-of-the-year title for its Loureiro at the Concurso W in 2023. Its registered office is at Rua da Cerca 15, Bico, 4720-173 Amares.
The estate is one of the few Vinho Verde producers listed by both Nordic monopolies. Systembolaget’s product database shows Amare 2023 (article 234601, 75 cl, SEK 95) in the Swedish order range since 1 June 2024, supplied by Portucastas AB, a Swedish importer specialising in Portuguese wine. In Norway, Vinmonopolet’s 2 September 2026 launch list added three Quinta d’Amares wines to the order range through Silves Vinho Group AS, the importer behind several recent Portuguese entries into the Norwegian market.
At SEK 95 the Swedish listing sits at the entry price point where Vinho Verde competes with Italian and Spanish whites for volume, and the simultaneous Norwegian entry two years later illustrates the typical Nordic sequence for a mid-sized Portuguese estate: a Swedish order-range listing first, then a Norwegian importer following the Swedish reference. With Systembolaget counting 73 Vinho Verde lines among 579 Portuguese products in September 2026, the category is crowded; a dual-monopoly footprint is what distinguishes an exporter from an occasional shipper.
