Quinta da Raza lies at Veade in Celorico de Basto, on the Tâmega in the Basto sub-region of the Vinho Verde DOC. The family’s ownership of the flat site known as Raza is documented since 1769, and the estate has stayed in the Teixeira Coelho family throughout; it is run today by Diogo Teixeira Coelho, the eighth generation, and Mafalda Teixeira Coelho. The property has 14 named vineyards across 50 hectares on granite and clay-schist soils, planted to Alvarinho, Trajadura, Azal, Arinto, Avesso, Padeiro, Espadeiro and Vinhão among others, and added the Vinha dos Barros in February 2025. The wines are sold under the Quinta da Raza, Dom Diogo and Raza labels plus a natural-wine line, and the estate holds the Sustainable Winegrowing Portugal certification.
In Sweden, Systembolaget’s product database lists Raza Pet Nat (art. 9047401, SEK 180) as a Quinta da Raza wine in the order range since 24 August 2021, imported by Concealed Wines AB — a pétillant-naturel from the Basto sub-region reachable by any Systembolaget store on customer order. An earlier version of this profile cited a Raza Single Vineyard listing; the monopoly’s database as read on 14 September 2026 carries the Pet Nat only.
Most of the Vinho Verde on Nordic shelves is Alvarinho from Monção e Melgaço. A Basto estate with a natural pét-nat in Systembolaget’s order range widens the region’s representation and shows that a family producer with a distinctive, on-trend wine can reach the Swedish monopoly through a small specialist importer rather than a multinational distributor.
