Quinta da Pigarra – Sociedade Agrícola, Lda (NIF 510986404) is a family wine estate in Melgaço, in the Monção e Melgaço sub-region of the Vinho Verde region, founded as a company in 2014. Its Encostas de Melgaço Alvarinho 2020 won the top Grande Medalha de Ouro at the regional commission’s “Os Melhores Verdes 2022” competition. Since 17 April 2026 the 2023 vintage has been sold by Systembolaget in Sweden (article 9051501, SEK 220), imported by Boa Pressao AB.
The Portuguese company registers list Quinta da Pigarra – Sociedade Agrícola, Lda (NIF 510986404) at Rua das Carvalhiças 414, 4960-507 Melgaço, in the northernmost corner of mainland Portugal on the Minho river. It is a private limited company incorporated on 12 February 2014 with €10,000 of share capital, and its main activity is viticulture (CAE 01210). The estate sells its Alvarinho under the Encostas de Melgaço label. Its 2020 vintage took the Grande Medalha de Ouro, the top award, at “Os Melhores Verdes 2022,” the competition run by the Vinho Verde regional wine commission (CVRVV), where a 15-member jury blind-tasted 218 samples.

The Swedish monopoly’s product search shows Encostas de Melgaço Alvarinho 2023 (article 9051501, 750 ml, 13% abv) at SEK 220, launched on 17 April 2026 in the temporary range (tillfälligt sortiment) and supplied by the Swedish importer Boa Pressao AB. Systembolaget describes it as a fruity, very fresh white with notes of peach, herbs, pear, pineapple, honeydew melon and citrus, to serve with fish, chicken or vegetarian dishes. Temporary-range launches are one of the main ways small Portuguese producers get into Systembolaget: the monopoly buys a fixed volume for a limited period instead of committing to a permanent listing.
