Madeira and Porto Santo wine company created by winemaker António Maçanita — the founder of Fitapreta, Azores Wine Company and Maçanita Vinhos — together with Nuno Faria, a partner in the Lisbon restaurant 100 Maneiras who is Madeiran with a family history on Porto Santo. According to the Maçanita group’s own account the project was born during the first pandemic lockdown, which Faria spent on Porto Santo among the island’s low, white-walled vineyards; the name plays on the nicknames the two islands give each other (Madeirans call Porto Santo people “Profetas”, who reply with “Villões”). Its wines include Listrão dos Profetas from Porto Santo and Tinta Negra dos Villões from Madeira. In Sweden, Systembolaget has scheduled Tinta Negra dos Villões dos Profetas 2024 (art. 9271101, SEK 299) for its temporary-assortment launch of 2 October 2026, imported by Handpicked Wines Sweden AB.
