Why this matters

Pedrosa & Rodrigues is one of four Portuguese suppliers that Marimekko lists for garments only — with Meamstyle, also in Barcelos, the Becri Group company Gubec in Esposende and GPSA Têxteis in Vila Nova de Famalicão — and, with 120 workers, the largest of them. Marimekko’s June 2026 partner-supplier list has 97 factory rows, 13 of them in Portugal — 12 different Portuguese suppliers, second only to China’s 13 — and the Helsinki-listed design house’s 2025 annual report puts Portugal’s share of Marimekko products sold at 15%, behind only China (20%) and Thailand (17%).
