It is named on the published supplier lists of two Nordic outdoor brands — Fenix Outdoor (Fjällräven), which lists the Cabeçudos plant with 120 employees plus two partner units, and Houdini Sportswear.
Olímpio Miranda, Lda — Olmac — is a private-label clothing manufacturer in Cabeçudos, on the southern edge of Vila Nova de Famalicão in the Ave valley textile district. The company says it has been in the market for more than 35 years, employs about 115 people and produces around 800,000 garments a year, ranging from technical pieces in polyamide, polyester, Dri-release, Coolmax, Outlast, laminates and 100 percent wool to conventional cotton and natural-fibre garments, with an in-house R&D team developing products beyond customer briefs. It is certified to ISO 9001, STeP by OEKO-TEX, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, GOTS and GRS, is working towards SA 8000, and runs EU co-funded internationalisation and decarbonisation projects.
Its Nordic customers are on record. Fenix Outdoor’s list of active Tier-1 suppliers (April 2026 edition) shows Olmac as the business partner behind three Portuguese factories: Olímpio Miranda Lda itself in Cabeçudos with 120 employees, Trapos Loucos Unipessoal in Paços de Ferreira with 56, and Vestelogios in Gandra, Paredes, with 26 — making Olmac one of the group’s larger Portuguese apparel sources. Houdini Sportswear, which produces all of its clothing in Europe, names Olmac (Olímpio Miranda) as one of its two Portuguese manufacturers alongside J. Caetano.
Olmac shows what the Portuguese end of the Nordic outdoor-apparel supply chain actually looks like: a mid-sized Famalicão contractor with technical-fabric competence, a full set of textile sustainability certifications and a small network of satellite sewing units, serving Swedish brands whose customers expect European production. As Fjällräven’s parent and Houdini both publish and update their factory lists, Olmac’s position in them is a verifiable, renewable data point on Portugal → Nordics apparel trade — the same trade that INE’s July 2026 figures show growing faster than Portuguese exports overall.
