Nexer Group is a Gothenburg-headquartered IT and digital-services company with 2,500 experts in 16 countries, 80% owned by the Danir Group — the privately held Swedish group of the Olofsson family with 11,200 employees in 26 countries — and known as Sigma IT from 1986 until its 2021 rebrand; Martin am Zoll has been chief executive since 2025. Its Portuguese business, Nexer Portugal, operates from Rua Professor Alfredo de Sousa 6 in Lisbon and sells Microsoft Dynamics 365, electronic-invoicing, data-insights and cloud-migration services to Portuguese and Brazilian-market clients, making it one of the few Swedish IT consultancies with a Portuguese-language delivery arm in the country.
Nexer runs a dedicated Portuguese-language site and a Lisbon office at Rua Professor Alfredo de Sousa 6, from which it sells the Microsoft business-applications stack — Dynamics 365, Business Central, Annata for Dynamics 365 for the automotive and equipment trades, Microsoft 365 and Azure — packaged as electronic invoicing, agile expert support, data insights, cloud migration and multi-country roll-outs. The Portuguese practice targets the sectors the group lists locally: automotive and distribution, agribusiness, manufacturing and Industry 4.0, professional services, consumer and retail, and the public sector.
The parent is unusual among Swedish consultancies in being privately controlled: 80% sits with Danir, the Olofsson family’s industrial and IT holding, with management and the Wattin family holding the rest, which the group says lets it invest for the long term rather than to a quarterly listing calendar. Portugal is one of Nexer’s 16 country markets alongside Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, India, the United States, Brazil and Colombia; the Lisbon and São Paulo teams share the Portuguese-language Microsoft practice.
Swedish IT and engineering consultancies have mostly come to Portugal for nearshore delivery capacity; Nexer is one of the few that has also built a local sales practice serving Portuguese clients, and its Danir ownership ties it to the same Gothenburg ecosystem that produced Volvo, SKF and the Lindholmen science park. It is also a corporate member of the Câmara de Comércio Luso-Sueca, the Lisbon-based Swedish chamber, which lists Nexer among its Portugal-active members.
In 2025 Martin am Zoll took over as group CEO. NorthSouth HQ added Nexer to the Swedish Companies in Portugal directory in September 2026 after verifying the Lisbon office through the company’s Portuguese site and the Câmara de Comércio Luso-Sueca membership list.
