Munters is a Swedish climate-control specialist founded in 1955 by inventor Carl Munters and headquartered in Stockholm, where it is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. It supplies energy-efficient dehumidification, evaporative and liquid cooling, and air-quality systems to nearly 50 industries — from food and agriculture to data centres and pharmaceuticals — with manufacturing and sales in more than 30 countries, around 3,900 employees and SEK 10.4 billion of net sales in 2022.

In Portugal, Munters operates through a Portuguese-language presence (munters.com/pt) and a partner-and-project model rather than a large local plant. Its footprint is best documented in agriculture: Munters climate-control equipment has been installed in Portuguese greenhouses, including an anthurium- and rose-growing operation (Quinta do Sítio da Cruz) in Óbidos, where its EM-series fans and CELdek evaporative-cooling panels were fitted to manage temperature and humidity. This sits alongside the company’s broader Iberian activity in food-chain, industrial and data-centre climate control.
