Valongo (Porto) compressed-air distributor and service provider that became part of Sweden’s Atlas Copco Group on 2 July 2026. Nine employees joined the Compressor Technique business area’s service division, bringing more than 1,500 installed compressed-air systems across Portugal with them.
LusoAr is a compressed-air specialist based in Valongo, in the Porto district, supplying air compressors, air treatment and compressed-air installations plus the service contracts that follow them, for large and mid-size industry across northern Portugal. Its installed base runs to more than 1,500 compressed-air production and treatment installations nationwide.
On 2 July 2026 the business became part of Atlas Copco Group, the Stockholm-listed industrial group, joining the service division within the Compressor Technique business area. Nine employees transferred with the deal; the purchase price was not disclosed. CMS Portugal advised Atlas Copco on the acquisition.
Atlas Copco has spent years buying regional compressor distributors to convert one-off equipment sales into recurring service revenue, and the LusoAr deal applies that playbook to northern Portugal’s industrial belt. It is a small transaction with an outsized signal: Swedish industrial groups are now acquiring the Portuguese service layer, not just selling machines into it — the same pattern NorthSouth HQ has tracked in Assa Abloy’s Portuguese acquisitions through 2026.
