Kempower is the Finnish DC fast-charging manufacturer from Lahti whose chargers power a fast-growing share of Portugal's public EV network. Spun out of welding group Kemppi and listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, it reaches the Portuguese market through charge-point operator Powerdot and local partner MIDES.
Kempower's biggest channel into Portugal is Powerdot, the Lisbon-founded charge-point operator that has rolled Kempower hardware out across more than 1,200 fast-charging stations in its six-country network. Power Dot has placed repeat orders covering Portugal, Spain, France and Poland, making Kempower's modular DC technology a visible part of the Portuguese destination-charging landscape at supermarkets, retail parks and restaurants.
On the ground, installation and maintenance run through MIDES, Kempower's Portuguese sales-and-service partner, while a parallel agreement with Repsol is set to bring Kempower fast chargers to the energy group's Portuguese service stations. Together these partnerships give the Finnish manufacturer a service presence in Portugal without the cost of a full local subsidiary.
EV charging is one of the clearest arteries of the Nordic-to-Portugal clean-tech corridor. Finnish charging hardware, a Portuguese operator scaling across Europe and a Portuguese installation partner combine to electrify Portuguese mobility — a template for how Nordic technology and Iberian execution compound across the corridor.
Through 2025–2026 Kempower has continued to expand in Iberia via the Power Dot multi-country order and the Repsol service-station programme, with Portugal named among the priority markets for its DC fast-charging rollout.
