Corridor footprint

Intrum AB — formerly Intrum Justitia — is the Stockholm-listed group that has become Europe’s largest credit management services company, with more than 9,500 employees across roughly twenty countries. Its Portuguese arm, Intrum Portugal, Unipessoal Lda, opened in 1997 and has grown into the domestic market leader, running operations from Lisbon’s Parque das Nações and a second office in Porto with a workforce of more than 250.

Intrum Portugal serves banks and financial institutions, telecoms, utilities, insurers and other large corporates and SMEs with debt collection, servicing and credit information. Its scale was built partly through local acquisitions — the collections division of Dun & Bradstreet in 2001, Via Executiva in 2002 and Logicomer in 2015 — consolidating a fragmented Portuguese receivables market under a single Swedish-owned platform.

Why this matters for the corridor

Credit management is unglamorous but structurally important corridor infrastructure: as Nordic banks, lessors and corporates expand exposure to Portugal, a Swedish-owned market leader in receivables servicing is exactly the kind of financial plumbing that lets capital flow south with confidence. Intrum’s nearly three-decade Portuguese presence makes it one of the most embedded Nordic financial-services operators in the country.
