Iberomoldes is one of the founding names of Portugal’s Marinha Grande mould cluster, established in 1975. Today a holding group of around nine companies and some 800 employees, it spans design, product engineering, prototyping and injection-mould manufacture — chiefly for the automotive industry — and counts Sweden among its leading export markets.
Iberomoldes was founded in Marinha Grande in 1975 by Henrique Neto and Joaquim Menezes and grew into one of the cornerstones of Portugal’s world-class moulds cluster. It operates as a holding company over a group of firms covering the full product cycle — design, product engineering, prototyping, injection-mould manufacture and the production of finished plastic and light-alloy parts — with the automotive sector accounting for the bulk of its work alongside electronics, appliances, aerospace and medical devices. Following Neto’s exit in 2009, Joaquim Menezes is the group’s sole shareholder and president.
The group also owns Aníbal H. Abrantes, the pioneer of Portuguese mouldmaking founded in 1945 and acquired by Iberomoldes in 1985; that single company marked 80 years in July 2025 and reported around €8.75 million in turnover for 2024, almost entirely exported. For the corridor, the relevant fact is Iberomoldes’ long-standing engineering presence in Sweden and its position with Sweden as one of its top export destinations — putting Portuguese tooling capability close to Nordic automotive and industrial customers.
A Portuguese engineering group with an established presence in Sweden is the corridor working in its under-told direction: Portuguese industrial know-how embedding itself in the Nordic market rather than simply shipping product. In 2023 the group sold its Brazilian operation Iber-Oleff to Spain’s CIE Automotive for around €20 million, part of a long reshaping of the holding. Its president, Joaquim Menezes, has also led the European mould-industry body ISTMA Europa and the Portuguese technology centre Centimfe.
