Corridor footprint

Hexicon is a pure-play floating offshore-wind developer and technology company. Its WunderHexicon joint venture is aimed at developing floating wind projects in Spain and Portugal, positioning the Swedish group to participate in Portugal’s emerging offshore-wind programme along the Atlantic coast, where deep water makes floating — rather than fixed-bottom — the relevant technology.

Beyond power generation, Hexicon is a partner in Ocean H2, a joint industry project pairing floating wind and floating solar to produce green hydrogen, with project sites that include Portugal. That places the company at the intersection of two themes drawing Nordic capital south: offshore renewables and the green-molecules build-out around Sines and the wider Iberian coast.

Why this matters for the corridor

Portugal has signalled ambitions for floating offshore wind, and developers with proven floating technology and Iberian pipelines are scarce. Hexicon’s presence is early-stage but strategically placed — a Nordic technology owner betting on the same Atlantic renewables story that is pulling Danish and Norwegian energy players into Portugal.
