Corridor footprint

eInforma lists Herdade do Freixo II, S.A. (NIF 509849172, previously Wacola Investments, S.A.) at Quinta da Espinheira, 7170-001 Redondo. Its activity is wine production (CAE 11021) and it has filed accounts for 2023 to 2025. A separate company, Sociedade Herdade do Freixo, Unipessoal, Lda (NIF 510605982), is shown as extinta and is not the producer.

The estate’s website (herdadedofreixo.com) gives “Established 1808”. It lists a range that includes Freixo Terroir red, white and rosé, Freixo Family Collection, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Alvarinho, plus wine tourism and events. On 16 October 2026, Vinmonopolet named “Herdade do Freixo” as producer of Freixo Terroir Tinto (art. 20144901, NOK 290.40, active) and Freixo Terroir Branco (art. 20139501, NOK 287.60, sold out), both in the order range and imported by Winegadores AS.

Why this matters

Alentejo is Portugal’s strongest wine region in the Nordic monopolies. Herdade do Freixo reaches Norway at the premium end of the order range rather than through the basic-range tenders that big Alentejo co-operatives compete for.
