Corridor footprint

Funcom ZPX is the Lisbon-based development studio that emerged from Funcom's 2018 acquisition of a majority stake in Zona Paradoxal, Lda — a Portuguese game services studio with which Funcom had already worked for several years. The studio handles full-range development support for Funcom's portfolio and works closely with Funcom Oslo (Norway), Funcom NC (United States) and Funcom Bucharest (Romania).

Why this matters

Lisbon has emerged as one of Southern Europe's most credible game-development hubs, anchored by a combination of remote-work-friendly visa policy, English-fluent technical talent and lower cost-of-living than Stockholm or Berlin. Funcom ZPX is one of the longer-tenure Nordic-rooted commitments to that ecosystem and a useful reference point for other Norwegian and Swedish gaming groups (Embracer, Paradox, Stillfront) evaluating Iberian studio additions.

Profile under active enrichment. If you work at Funcom ZPX or have verified information about the studio's corridor activity, email miguel@fractio.se and we will update this page.
