The deal was reported on 5 December 2024 by Jornal de Negócios (“Dinamarquesa Emagine compra portuguesas Boost IT e Hexis com 600 trabalhadores”) and on 12 December 2024 by ECO, which described emagine as a business and IT consultancy of Danish origin and said integration began immediately. According to ECO, Boost IT, founded in 2018, had 500 full-time-equivalent IT professionals and 50 further employees, and Hexis Technology Hub 50 IT professionals. emagine’s own website carries a post on the Boost IT acquisition, titled “emagine expands globally by acquiring Portuguese Boost IT”.
A Danish consultancy buying a Lisbon IT-services company with several hundred engineers is a clear example of Nordic firms using Portugal as a delivery hub for technology talent, one of the most active flows in the corridor.
