Corridor footprint

Drillcon Iberia is the group’s Iberian workhorse: from its head office in Braga it runs raise boring for mining and civil construction and core drilling for exploration and geotechnical purposes, with the Iberian Peninsula as its main market. In April 2025 the group announced a renewed raise-boring contract at Neves-Corvo — Portugal’s largest mine, operated by Boliden’s Somincor — covering roughly two years of production work through February 2027 and worth approximately SEK 90–100 million.

The parent, Drillcon AB of Nora, Sweden, is listed on Nasdaq First North Premier in Stockholm and has drilled in Portugal for decades, making it one of the longest-standing Swedish industrial-services operators in the country.

Why this matters for the corridor

Drillcon completes the Swedish mining ecosystem around the Alentejo: Boliden owns the mine, Sandvik and Epiroc supply the equipment, and Drillcon Iberia drills the shafts and exploration cores — a full Nordic value chain operating on Portuguese ground.
