Corridor footprint

The Portuguese leg is a Spanish-registered branch — Dometic Spain S.L. – Sucursal em Portugal — based on the Rotunda de São Gonçalo in Carcavelos, on the Cascais coast west of Lisbon, and constituted in 1996. That gives Dometic a formal Portuguese commercial footprint of roughly three decades, run as a compact commercial and distribution operation within the group’s Iberian organisation.

Beyond the branch, Dometic reaches Portugal through independent caravan, RV and marine specialists and a Portuguese-language catalogue (dometic.pt) with a dealer locator. Portugal’s fast-growing camper-van tourism and its Atlantic recreational-boating sector are the natural demand base for Dometic’s two core verticals, Land Vehicles and Marine.

Why this matters for the corridor

Dometic is a textbook Nordic→Iberia industrial story: a Stockholm-listed Swedish manufacturer that has quietly kept a Lisbon-area subsidiary for three decades to serve Portugal’s RV, marine and hospitality channels — capital embedded through a registered local entity rather than pure export.

Recent activity

Dometic launched a global restructuring programme in December 2024 targeting around SEK 750 million in annual EBITA improvement, and its Q1 2026 interim report (23 April 2026) showed gross margin recovering to 29.6% as organic sales stabilised.
