Decorgel – Produtos Alimentares, S.A. is a Portuguese producer of fruit fillings, custards and creams based near Porto, with 51 employees and EUR 6 million of revenue in 2024. Since 16 September 2025 it has been 100% owned by Credin Portugal, part of Norway’s Orkla Food Ingredients.
Decorgel built its reputation over more than two decades supplying quality fruit fillings and creams to industrial food companies and distributors, predominantly in Portugal, France and Spain. Founder Francisco Miranda grew the company into a recognised specialist before handing it over in what he described as a carefully planned transition to ensure continuity under new ownership.
Under Orkla Food Ingredients, Decorgel is integrated into the Credin Group alongside Credin Portugal, whose commercial team now sells the Decorgel assortment to its 2,000+ direct customers. Orkla flagged the acquisition as an enabler of further growth in the Spanish and French markets.
Decorgel is a textbook example of the quiet flow of Nordic industrial capital into Portuguese mid-sized manufacturers: a EUR 6 million family company near Porto becoming the newest node in a Norwegian group’s European ingredients platform, with its products now carried into Iberian and French channels by a Nordic-owned sales force.
Credin Portugal, a wholly owned Orkla Food Ingredients subsidiary, acquired 100% of Decorgel’s shares on 16 September 2025. The price was kept confidential.
