Corridor footprint

Credin Portugal gives Orkla Food Ingredients a production and distribution platform in the Portuguese bakery market, with a product range spanning bread and cake mixes, margarine, glazes, gels and fillings sold to more than 2,000 direct customers — from neighbourhood pastelarias to industrial bakers. The business operates as part of the Credin Group inside Orkla Food Ingredients, which holds leading positions across European bakery, ice cream and plant-based ingredients.

In September 2025 the company deepened its Portuguese footprint by acquiring 100% of Decorgel – Produtos Alimentares, S.A., a fruit-fillings and creams producer near Porto with 51 employees and EUR 6 million of 2024 revenue. CEO Fernando Coelho framed the deal as a route to grow in the Spanish and French markets while widening the assortment offered to Portuguese customers.

Why this matters for the corridor

Orkla is one of the largest Nordic consumer-goods and ingredients groups, and Credin Portugal is its operational anchor in the Portuguese food industry. The 2025 Decorgel acquisition shows Nordic strategic capital consolidating Portuguese food-ingredients capacity — and using Portugal as a base to serve Iberian and French demand.

Recent activity

Credin Portugal signed and completed the acquisition of Decorgel on 16 September 2025; the purchase price was not disclosed.
