Corridor footprint

On 29 October 2026 Prebona AB, a Swedish textile-technology company listed in Stockholm, announced that it had begun working with two Portuguese textile firms, Casa da Malha and Acatel. After what Prebona described as very good test results, both companies will start using its Cool&OdorControl technology in their production of functional fabrics.

Prebona describes Casa da Malha as a modern circular-knitting mill in Portugal producing premium fabrics for sport, athleisure and fashion. With Acatel, a Barcelos dyer, printer and finisher active since 1985, it forms part of an integrated Portuguese production chain running from yarn to finished garment.

The legal entity, Casa da Malha – C5M, Lda (formerly Dias da Silva & Azevedo, Lda), has NIF 514084278 and is registered at Rua do Rio, N.º 286, 4750-625 Barcelos. It was incorporated on 11 August 2016 and its main activity is the manufacture of knitted fabrics (CAE 13910).

Why this matters

The partnership puts a Swedish-developed odour-control finish inside a Barcelos knit mill, so Nordic sportswear brands sourcing in northern Portugal can specify it at fabric level.
