Porto-based building-information-modelling (BIM) and engineering specialist with close to 100 engineers, majority-owned by Norway’s CTS Group. BIMMS is the modelling and design-coordination arm of CTS’s Portuguese data-centre platform, supporting hyperscale projects across Europe.
BIMMS is a Porto engineering house specialised in building-information modelling and the coordination of engineering disciplines — the digital backbone of complex construction projects. Norway’s CTS Group, one of Europe’s largest data-centre design-and-build groups, acquired a majority stake in the company, folding its close-to-100 engineers into the group’s European delivery machine.
Within CTS’s Portuguese platform — which spans the Lisbon European base in Parque das Nações, electrical-construction company Velox Electro in Leiria, a manufacturing joint venture with Mecwide in Barcelos and the NordicEPOD power-module factory announced for Viana do Castelo with Eaton — BIMMS supplies the modelling and compatibility engineering that keeps hyperscale projects buildable. Its Porto engineers work on data-centre programmes across Europe, including Nordic sites.
The acquisition is a template for how Nordic industrial groups are buying, not just hiring, Portuguese engineering capability. For Porto’s engineering talent pool, majority Nordic ownership brings pipeline visibility from one of Europe’s fastest-growing infrastructure categories; for CTS, it locks scarce BIM capacity into the group.
