Basico, a Danish consultancy founded in 2003 that focuses on business-support functions — finance, HR, IT and legal — announced the official start of its activity in Portugal on 6 October 2026, Jornal Económico reported. Its Danish company, Basico A/S (CVR 35852190), is registered at Philip Heymans Alle 3 in Hellerup, north of Copenhagen, as a business and management consultancy, and the Danish company register also lists a second unit in Aarhus.
The Portuguese operation is led by João Luís as Country Managing Partner. According to Jornal Económico, he has more than three decades of experience in corporate finance and consulting, including time at two of the Big Four firms, and his brief is to bring Basico’s Danish model to Portuguese companies, from small and medium-sized firms with national and international footprints to large multinationals. Rather than recruiting in the traditional sense, Basico places senior professionals at short notice to fill critical gaps, run transformation projects such as ERP implementations or restructurings, and keep operations running. Basico’s Portuguese-language website gives its Lisbon office as Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo 21, 1.º andar, 1050-116 Lisboa.
Alongside client work, Basico is launching an Associates network in Portugal for senior independent consultants — local professionals or international talent living in Portugal — who keep their independent practice while joining a professional community that gives them methodological backing and access to projects. The Portuguese website presents CFO services, finance-IT services (including ERP consulting, Microsoft Business Central and financial planning and analysis), people and payroll services, and legal services. No Portuguese company under the Basico name appeared in a nif.pt search on 7 October 2026.
Basico sits inside the Portugal ↔ Scandinavia business corridor that NorthSouth HQ tracks every day. It joins a small group of Nordic advisory firms with their own Lisbon offices, such as the Swedish communications consultancy Kreab, and its Associates model is aimed directly at the senior international professionals who now live in Portugal.
