Corridor footprint

Inapal Plásticos manufactures composite body and structural components at its Leça do Balio facility, with Class-A body panels and underbody parts feeding directly into Tier-1 supply chains for European premium automakers. Named customers include Volvo Cars alongside Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan and Renault. The 2018 acquisition by Teijin (Japan) added scale and capital, but Portuguese production remains in Porto and the company is now part of Teijin Automotive Technologies’ global composite footprint.

Why this matters for the corridor

Volvo Cars’ supplier base is one of the more closely watched Tier-1 lists in European auto. A long-standing Portuguese position inside it — in a strategically important composite-body-panel niche — is one of the cleanest examples of Portugal’s industrial integration into Nordic manufacturing supply chains.
